I am Mikael Blomqvist, a 40 year old CP handicapped man (my legs doesn't work but main brains sure do). I'm studying computer technology at Åbo Akademi. I'm looking for at suitable job, not full time though, but some hours a week and preferably something I can do at home.

My qualities lies mostly on programming: I'm very familiar with Visual Basic; it has been my main tool for many years, if you may say so. Furthermore I have worked on official projects where we used Delphi. I also know a good deal about Visual C++; I have made a few DLL-libraries in C++ because it gives you more possibilities and freedoms than Basic. Beyond that I have had a good view at Java, JavaScript and HTML. When it comes to web solutions I like PHP with MySQL.

My favorite OS is the Windows NT-family (Windows 2000/XP). I know it farely well; it has been under my nose for about nine years already. I don't have any problems with Windows 95 nor 98. These just don't get the sparkle of inspiration. Linux has come into my life lately. Red Hat 6.1 got the sparkles flying and I've been learning the basics and I can even compile a new kernel and put it in the right place. I changed from Red Hat to Mandrake which have been my Lixux distribution since their version 8.0. Now I use Mandriva 2007 Spring Power Pack and I'm very pleased with it.

When it comes to databases I've prefered Access; it works so well with Visual Basic, but I have more and more started to move to MySQL. SQL gives me no greater problems.

My native language is swedish. But my finnish and english is also farely fluent. My german has got so rusty that I shouldn't even be mentioning it.

I know a great deal about hardware; my last three PCs have been put together by my own bare hands... I dare to say, it has to be a farely complicated SCSI-problem before I get silent.

I have been working 6 months at the University Library doing mostly computer based addministration. I loved that work, but they ran out of money.

Lately I've been doing project based work at the Chydenius Institute. Mainly programming using Delphi 4-6, and this year AppForge, a plug-in for Visual Basic for doing applications for Palm and Pocket PC.

From May 2004 to December 2006, I was working for Kynnys association on the Turku for all project and still on rare occasions.

So if you got anything in mind or want some details, please mail me, Mikael Blomqvist
